Case Study
The Children’s Hospital Foundation provides community based funding to pioneer research into child illnesses and injuries. The foundation also supports the Royal Children’s Hospital providing the highest level of care for sick children in regional and rural Queensland. Since 1986, more than $120 million has been invested into helping work wonders for sick kids. With this kind of commitment to the Queensland community, the Foundation relies on a large base of dedicated volunteers to visit and provide support to sick children. Unfortunately, many of the volunteers felt burdened by the administrative tasks associated with managing the foundation’s Raffle Ticket process. A solution was required to overcome the paper based ticketing system and relieve the volunteers from the administration side of things so they could continue providing support where it was required most.
early 2014, the Children’s Hospital Foundation outsourced the digitisation of raffle tickets to Avantix which developed an end to end solution for the Big W and Woolworths Raffle Ticket fundraising program. The Avantix Intelligent Information Processing solution could automatically identify sold, unsold and missing tickets, providing the foundation with a complete and accessible audit trail, and enabling statutory compliance in an easy and efficient manner.
The solution allowed volunteers to focus on spending much needed time with sick children in metropolitan, regional and rural Queensland. It also helped save time, money and keep volunteers motivated by doing what they volunteered for.
